Pasini Design Introduces the New Faux Lino Collection

The artwork for the Hanging Gardens design process was painted in watercolor to enable the overlapping of transparent colors that combine into new tones, giving a sense of depth and movement to the design.
The solid brushstrokes of the Hanging Gardens Outline net pattern, create controlled randomness in the design.  

Pasini Designs Arida print offers a soft shade of privacy in an original window treatment.

Since I first saw this style of window treatment in Italy a number of years ago, I have wanted to use one of my designs in this application.  The Arida print was the perfect choice with its open pattern lending itself to float from panel to sliding panel without distracting from the views of downtown Los Angeles, yet creating shade and privacy when desired.

Light weight 100% Linen allows filtered light into the space while holding the open Arida print in a light Pearl ink.

The Arida design has been isolated to the same height lining up on all panels, creating a patterned band detail that spans the full wall of windows .  
The panels glide on a track system mounted above window allowing them to be repositioned across the window.

This past Spring I took a short trip to Palm Spring for a relaxing weekend.   The quiet tranquility of desert landscape was so beautiful with its layers of texture in a neutral color pallet.  I think it is the neutral pallet that allows the beauty of texture to truly shine.

This was the inspiration for the addition of the new Desert Palette to the Pasini Design Collection.

Petals Collection

“Petals Collection” The new colors of “Branches” and “Blossoms” Prints from Pasini Design, hand printed Textiles

On a recent trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco, I was surprised to find the Central Valley Agricultural Belt was not the expected patchwork of lush green that it typically would be, instead the orchards were bursting with the most beautiful shades of pink and ivory!  This would be the perfect time to introduce the Petal Collection, new colors for Branches and Blossoms.

The  “Petals Collection” colors were inspired by the spectrum of light in the early morning sky; ranging from grey lavender to pink apricot.

 “Nebbia” (Italian for morning fog close to the ground) color Faux Suede and “Alba” (Italian for dawn) color linen, are the soft pastel grounds for the fresh and bright Perla and Champagne inks.  “Cinder” Faux Suede and “Carbonella” (Italian for Graphite) linen are handsome grounds for the elegant Bronze and Perla inks.

Whether wall covering, drapery or upholstery, these new colors reflect the new freshness of Spring.

The new Weeping Orchid Collection was inspired by the time I spent in Miami Florida.  I was immersed in a tropical beauty that was so vibrant in color, texture and scent. I came across the most interesting and unusual plants at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden and my favorite time to visit was just after an afternoon rain.  I used watercolor as my medium to emulated this streaming water effect on the fabric.

Linen is the fabric I have chosen to print on, in both a natural and refined state.  The Linen in its Natural color and weave has a coarse texture, while the Linen Cotton blend has a matte, satin-like weave and possesses very subtle vertical striae, mimicking the stripes of the streaming droplets.
